Annoyed With Pictage??

Hi everybody,  I just want to reach out to all my great clients and their friends and family.  I recently received a phone call from a very upset guest about Pictage's marketing emails. His reqests to be removed from their email list must had been misdirected as I was unaware of the situation.

If you or anybody have been annoyed by the same emais I would like to apoligize. I know they send a lot!  Pictage is it's own company, seperate of me.  They run marketing capaigns to help us photographers increase our sales.  As of right now ,there is no link to unsubscribe to their emails.  I believe this will be changing on April 29th.

If you would like to opt out of future emails from Pictage, you can log into your account and acess the "My Account" tab.  In there you will find that you can change your prefernces to not receive marketing emails.  If anybody else has needs help or has any suggestions to help improve Pictage's customer service please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Why do I use Pictage?  Two words, top quality.  I will never compromise quality and customer service.  They are more than just an online hosting site.  I believe that Pictage is the best company available that caters to wedding photographers and their clients.

Renee & Travis

The weekend of July 31st was one of the busiest weekends of the summer for me. I had weddings Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can image I was the only person happy for Monday to come! Luckily for me, Renee and Travis were married during an early service at the First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles. Like much of the summer, it rained heavily thoughout the morning. Thankfully the church in town is great inside and out for pictures. I was really hoping to go across the street to the park on the lake but it soon became apparent that was not going to be an option. Umbrealls on rainey days are an absolute nessecity! We stayed close by and got some really great pictures outside. I have to thank Renee and Travis for giving me the time to do outdoor pictures. I knew they would be worth it in the end!

The reception was held immedietly after down the road at the Sherwood Inn. Got to see some familar faces when I saw the Bob Cooper Band. The couple served individual desserts in leui of traditional wedding cake. By the end of reception the sun and come out and dried things up. It turned out to be a beautiful day! I thought this would be the prefect time to steal some quick pictures outside at the park by tha lake but Travis had already changed form his suit! Oh well!

Becky & Kevin

July 25th 2009. Back home to Rochester for Becky and Kevin's wedding. I love the change of scenery. Becky decided to get ready at Eagle Vale where the reception would be held. She wore a Maggie Sottero dress from NY Bride. With the timing of the ceremony and cocktail hour we arranged to do all our pictures before hand at Highland Park. I know this breaks from tradition but it can really allow you to enjoy your day ALOT more and be relaxed. You also have time to get all the pictures you want and not be rushed.

Luckily we didn't have to worry about the rain but Becky had also booked the County Court House in case as a rain location. Got a wedding in Rochester? Reserve this place! It's beautiful!

The ceremony was held at Chapel Hill. It's fun for me to come back to this chapel, as I was married there myself. It's a wedding chapel only so if your affraid of having an outdoor service this is a great alternative!

Rob from Turner Music Productions did an awesome job, as always. I've never seen so many guys going crazy on the dance floor. Great party! Flowers were by Peronal Designs and Jonathan's Bakery provided the cake. The favors were chocolate covered Oreos from Encore Chcolates Inc.

Kara & Mark

Falling behind here a bit, sorry!

Another crazy day of weather for Kara and Mark's wedding on July 24th. We had perfect overcast conditions, we had rain, which forced the ceremony to be moved under cover and we had bright sun. All within six hours! You'll see they have some really diverse looking pictures! The wedidng and reception both took place at Emerson Park in Auburn. Since the rain was so unpredicatable the ceremony was held in the breeze way of the building. As soon as the ceremony and recieving line were over the clouds parted and the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful night.

Kara had her hair and makeup done by Alisha Awad (one of my past brides). Simply Country provided the flowers. DJ for the night was Total Entertainment and the elegant cocunut wedding cake was make by Wendy Rasha. You can see more images on facebook. (see the link on the right)

Tis' the Season!

Stacy and I had a great time at the show last Sunday at the Holiday Inn.  It's great to meet so many people excited about their wedding!  It seems like the new biggest trend this year is photo booths (www.cnyphotobooth.com).  Fun idea and your guests get to take a momento home with them from the wedding.

I feel we really had a great response and was glad I had Stacy's work available to show as well.  If your wedding is 2010 contact us asap to see if we are still available. I'd love to hear brides feedback about the show so we can make them better in the future.

The biggest complaint I hear if that you feel like you are in a cattle drive going down a one-way street.  I completly agree!  Try the shows with larger spaces that have more of a browsing atmosphere.  I think the Drivers Villiage show on Jan 10th has a more relaxed, spread out layout.  I also wish there were a better variety of vendors.  There are ALWAYS tons of photographers,DJ's and venues at shows but not a lot of smaller vendors like makeup artists, jewelry, cakes and florists.  This is basically due to the high price of the booths.  Smaller vendors simply cannot recoup the money spent to justify doing the shows.  I worry about brides becoming bored or not attending a second show (especially if you have all the major things done).  I think it would great if the hosts of these events (Syracuse Weddings and BridesWorld) would offer a discount or a smaller space to these vendors to help make our shows more productive for the brides.

If you attended the show last Sunday let me know your thoughts!

Bridal Show Season Is Here!!

Where did summer go!  I can't beleive the first bridal show of the season is next weekend.  Stop by and say hello at the Holiday Inn on Electronic Parkway in Liverpool. If you haven't been to a bridal show yet the first one of the season is always packed with great vendors.  Now through January are the best shows.  Once spring hits the crowd fizzels and you get less quality vendrs.  Dates go really quickly after the show so if your interested make a consult before the show to get first preference over the date.  I'll also have my calendar on hand at the show so feel free to set up a meeting then if you like what you see.  I have a large black popup booth so hopefully you don't miss me!  Looking forward to the show.  If I seem a little tired I'm apologzing right now.  I have weddings on the 2nd and 3rd as well!  Stacy one of my associates should also be there with samples of her work.  Hoe to see you there.  If not, you can always catch me at the Drivers Village show on Jan 10th.

Tatiana & Alan

July 18th. Trying to edit as fast as I can. Thank you to everybody for being so patient. I really want to be able to spend enough time on eveybody's pictures and not "rush" them out the door.

Tatiana & Alan were blessed with a beautiful day and escaped all the threatening weather that surrounded us. The weather actaully made for some really nice dramatic clouds which made great pictures later in the evening. The day started at the Skeneateles Suites where Tatiana had hair and makeup come to the room. This is been really popular and I think it's a great idea and makes for nice pictures. Tatiana wore a Maggie Sottero dress from Spy Baby's. The ceremony was held at 7:00 a Anyela's Vineyard with the reception following immediatly. Since the ceremony was so late Tataiana and Alan opted to do the majority of pictures before the ceremony. I know this doesn't work for everybody but if your having a late ceremony or having your ceremony and reception at the same location I sometimes recommend getting your pictures done and over with first. This way you have more time to actually enjoy your day, not be rushed and still get all the pretty pictures you hired your photographer for. I still set something up with the bride and groom to get that first reaction of them seeing each other.

We did most of the pictures at the park right in Skeaneatles but my favorite ones are the ones taken at the vineyard around dusk (8:00). Tracy Higginbotham from Five Star Events and Womens Ties helped the couple plan their event. Flowers came from Chris's Flowers of Liverpool. Sincerly Delicous created the cake.

You can check out some more pictures from their day on my facebook page (see the link on the right)

Seniors!!

Summer time equals senior picture time. For the most part weddings really do take up the most of my time but I do manage to fit in a few seniors every year. Since I don't have a studio here in Syracuse I pretty much do everything on location and will travel to your home or do an outdoor session wherever you would like. If you are willing to make the drive I do have a great studio and outdoor located on route 31 in Macedon, NY (about an hour and ten minutes from Syracuse). It's really worth the drive! Both of the girls pictures you'll see on here were done at that location. Sitting fees are $150. For further pricing information just email me.
