After a couple reschedules due to one of the few and only snow storms this past winter, a sprained ankle and work restraints, Stacy Claire finally met up with Danielle and Mike in Rochester, NY at Highland Park on a beautiful afternoon for their engagement session. We're looking forward to their Upstate Fort Drum, NY wedding later this summer!
Stacy Claire started out the 2012 season with this sweet engagement session with Melody and Josh at their humble abode in Fulton, NY. A perfect overcast day make for a beautiful day in the neighborhood! These two sweethearts are getting married in Ithaca, NY in August.
Hello! Well, its just been over a month since my last blog post ~ finishing up the 2011 season. What a crazy busy but wonderful season with some very memorable weddings and couples. Before I kick off the 2012 season with weddings, engagement sessions and family portraits, I wanted to share some fun moments I was fortunate to have during the off season. My husband and I traveled to St. Lucia for some R&R and fun in the sun! Seeing as its a rainy cold 54 degree day in Syracuse, NY I hope this gets you excited about the warmer weather to come (and hopefully stay!)
At last! We've reached the wonderful December wedding of 2011 with Jessica and Nathan at St. Paul's Catholic Church and a hoppin' party at The Turning Stone Resort & Casino. I absolutely love working at The Turning Stone if you can't tell! My time with this couple was the perfect way to end the 2011 season. Thank you guys! Here's to kicking off the 2012 season so so soon! ~ Crystal
Album Design Time!
Hello 2011 Newlyweds! (and possibly some 2010's) It's that time of year ~ April and May are Album Design months.
It's time to get your album designs under way if you haven't already done so. You'll definitely want to make sure to get your album selections in before the 2012 wedding season consumes me! If you have questions, just email me and I can help you along with the process. Once you get the ball rolling, pick out your favorites, we can have a beautiful album representing your wedding day in no time!
Dare I say it, I actually hope to have time to do my own album!?!?
After a great Thanksgiving Feast with my family, I spent my Saturday with Jennifer & Mike on a beautiful late fall (not feeling at all like winter) 65 degree weather wedding day!
Biggest Splurge: "It would have to be our venue, the Shenendoah Clubhouse. Everything about the staff, the food, the service and the overall appearance made my wedding "exceptional." After seeing it for the first time, I knew that I would have to cut back on less important details and have more DIY projects, because it was going to be my biggest splurge!"
DIY Projects: "There were many! We made the menu cards, table numbers, pew bows, church program...we also bought our own candles, flower vases and cocktail napkins. This gave the women in my family an excuse to hang out, have some wine and snacks, and get things ready for our big day."
Favorite Moment: "Besides marrying Mike (obviously the most important part!), I have to say that riding in our limo bus to the casino with our bridal party and parents was one of the best times. We could all finally relax, soak it all in, and prepare for our fun night ahead."
Would You Change Anything: "There is really NOTHING that I would change about our day. The only regret is not having enough time before the ceremony. Time got away from us and we were in such a rush I was not able to enjoy those last few minutes of getting ready with my girls at home."
Honeymoon: "Aruba! We stayed at the Marriot Resort & Stellaris Casino. Highly recommend!"

If you don't already know, I absolutely love Franklin Square for engagement sessions. My first engagement session of 2012 with Keleigh and Pat was nothing short of amazing! We had fun exploring the many great characters this treasured part of Downtown Syracuse has to offer. Speaking of engagement sessions, if you're looking to book your session this spring or summer, let me know so we can get some dates on the calendar!
I was excited to have shot a little bit of wedding in a little bit of snow with Amanda and Ryan back in November. Troopers to go outside and handle the crisp air, these two had a beautiful ceremony at The First Baptist Church in Hamilton, NY then a romantic affair at the Kallet. Throughout the day there were many tender moments but the few that took my breath away evolved beautifully between father and daughter. See for yourself!
My associate Stacy Claire's last wedding of the season was at the beautiful Greystone Castle in Canastota, NY. Samantha and Ryan live out of town and traveled quite some distance by car for their quaint wedding in Upstate NY (with dogs in tow I believe!). This bride also bears a striking resemblance to a former bride of mine and talented local wedding makeup artist - Riki Osborne of Syracuse Makeup Artistry. The bride's makeup artist - Gina Scammell - is good friends with Riki and even sent Riki a picture of the bride as proof of the similarity!
VENDORS: NY Bride, Gina Scammell Makeup Artistry, Black Tie Entertainment, Carnegie Catering, Sweet Endings Bakeshop
This bride is cute as a button to say the least. Colleen and Shayne had a beautiful day at the Sacred Heart Basicilica in Downtown Syracuse. As you can see these two are too cute for words and they know how to party!
Favorite Purchase: "My wedding dress. I loved it!"
Biggest Splurge: "Mashed potato bar during cocktail hour. Expensive but definitely worth it!"
Favorite Moment: "Sitting at the head table and looking out, seeing all my closest friends and family in the same room."
Advice for Future Couples: "Book your vendors early on to make sure you get who you want. Ask around and use vendors who people have had good experiences with. When you have faith in your vendors, it is one (major) less stress to worry about on your wedding day!"
